RECENTLY, THE JOURNEY became deeply personal for me, Ania, from the morning up until now, the aftermath of the Palisades Fire. :-( The moment I realized I wasn’t going home, that same night on January 7th, I picked up the paintbrush. It was the only way I could handle the anxiety and stress of the ever-growing and what seemed like never-ending fire. This sweatshirt which I am wearing in the photo to the left is actually the first sweatshirt which was born from the fear, anxiety, displacement, grief, and ultimately, the decision to create something meaningful from the ashes. Every sweatshirt since carries that same spirit—a raw look in to the story of survival, reinvention, strength, hope, gratitude, all the emotions which carry me through each day.
